Climate change and paradise
The mountains of the Altai are affected by climate change. To allow snow leopards, bears, ibex and other species to migrate, these animals must be able to move freely along a natural corridor, which implies a huge stretch of unfenced and protected land. The establishment of such a natural corridor in the Altai-Sayan region involves Kazachstan, Russia, China and Mongolia and that’s why a team of experts from those countries came together for a 3 day workshop in Ust Koksa.
Biologists, geographers, managers of nature reserves worked hard and at the end of the workshop they came up with a plan of action. A great achievement and very exciting to witness the process.
And guess what? search4paradise is now officially recognized as ambassador of the above mentioned initiative. If you know a little bit about red tape, travel permits and border crossings in this part of the world, you’ll appreciate the gesture.
